The Artist
Barbara is a professional photographer and long-time Pompano Beach resident. When she is not traveling or taking photographs, you might see her jogging around the pier area, sometimes backward, doing her version of the shuffle.
Barbara believes photographs can create deeper connections with the places we visit and help us recall the past. She aspires to create a souvenir in the viewer's mind and says life is not just about creating new experiences; it's about remembering them.
Her work has been commissioned by hotels and the city of Pompano Beach. She is this year's selected artist for the Deerfield Beach Festival of the Arts poster. If you are stopped at a red light in Pompano, you may see one of her eight images installed on a traffic box next to you.
